1930's Breakfaster Toaster Light
With its art deco styling, the Breakfaster was an attractive combination cooking appliance and toaster. Made between 1936 and '38, the top was a hot plate for cooking and the front pull-down door was for toasting slices of bread.
I have repurposed this unique devise as a lighted display stand and room accent lighting fixture. It projects a "venetian blind" light pattered effect on the wall as it under lights an object on display. I have it shown here displaying a vintage 8mm movie camera and ViewMaster stereo (3-D) viewer (not included). It's particularly cool with the ViewMaster 'cause the lighted display top doubles as a viewing light for the 3D images. The last photo shows how the Breckfaster was originally used in the 1930's.
