Once a week the Seltzer Man delivered a case of sparkling seltzer water to my home in Brooklyn. As a kid, I love the way the push-lever syphon worked to shoot the bubbly water into my glass. The Vaudevillians adopted the seltzer bottle as a slap-stick comedy tool but the glow from this "blast from the past" will instead evoke warm memories. A long filament bulb provides a beautiful accent light on a table, shelf or bar. The bottle design and syphon valve may vary but I make it a point to use only fluted bottles because I love what it does to the light.
